City of Paducah Service Changes for 2025 Veterans Day Holiday

Service Changes

With the Veterans Day holiday on Tuesday, November 11, there are schedule changes for some City services. 

  • City Hall and City Offices - City Hall located at 300 South 5th Street and other city offices will be closed Tuesday, November 11.

  • Garbage and Curbside Recycling Collection - There will be NO residential garbage or curbside recycling collection on Tuesday, November 11. Tuesday’s routes will be collected Wednesday, November 12 along with the Wednesday routes.

  • Compost Facility - The City of Paducah Compost Facility located at 1560 North 8th Street is closed on Tuesday, November 11.

 

Veterans Day Activities

Sunrise Reveille - The Veterans Day Sunrise Reveille will begin at approximately 6:15 a.m. at the Vietnam Veterans Monument in Dolly McNutt Memorial Plaza (301 South 5th Street) on November 11. Reveille will be played along with the raising of the flag at sunrise.

Veterans Day Awards and Opening Ceremony - An awards and opening ceremony will be at 10 a.m. on November 11 at Dolly McNutt Memorial Plaza. The event includes honoring the Patriot Award winner, Distinguished Veteran, and the winners of the Paducah Chapter, Daughters of American Revolution Veterans Day Poster & Essay Contest.

Veterans Day Parade - On November 11, the Veterans Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. at 6th and Washington Streets. It will travel along 6th Street before turning right on Broadway and heading toward the riverfront. At Water Street, it will turn left and disband at Jefferson Street.
