The City of Paducah invites entrepreneurs, developers, contractors, and business owners to use its two online Scope My Project tools. Designed to enhance communication, improve access to information, and simplify the development and project planning process, these user-friendly resources known as Scope My Project help entrepreneurs and developers navigate City requirements with greater confidence.
Both Scope My Project tools, powered by the software company OpenCounter, are free to use and available at Scope My Project.
The first tool, the Zoning Portal, allows users to explore where different business types are permitted throughout Paducah. The second tool, the Business Permitting Portal, guides users through the licenses, permits, and requirements for constructing, renovating, and developing a business or project in Paducah.
After answering the questions in the portals, users can download a customized project summary with zoning information, required permits, and a preliminary estimate of permit fees. Users also can access links for contacting City staff and create a free account to save project information.
“The Scope My Project online tools give entrepreneurs, developers, contractors, and small business owners a clear roadmap of the City’s permitting process, including the steps, approvals, and estimated fees they can expect,” said Development Liaison Laura Cowles. “By providing customized guidance based on Paducah’s codes and procedures, the portals reduce uncertainty, improve communication with City staff, and help move projects forward more efficiently. Our goal is to support turning business ideas into reality.”
