The Paducah-McCracken Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is inviting the community to take part in shaping its first-ever Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) by participating in a transportation survey. This survey will help the organization develop the MTP which will be a long-term guide for transportation improvements in the MPO area through the year 2050. The MPO encompasses all of McCracken County, a portion of Livingston County, and Brookport, Illinois.
“This Metropolitan Transportation Plan will focus on large topics including safety, mobility, and connectivity,“ said Paducah Mayor George Bray. “This survey is your chance to directly communicate what your top priorities may be regarding transportation. Most questions allow you to rank your priorities, and your input is important in shaping the plan’s elements. Please take the survey and help us develop a long-term plan that will be the guide for transportation improvements over the long run”
The MTP will identify short- and long-term strategies and actions that provide for the development of an integrated multimodal transportation system. This survey allows participants to share ideas, concerns, and priorities for local roads, transit, and safety. The survey, which is open through May 16, takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
In 2023, the Paducah-McCracken Metropolitan Planning Organization was designated by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet; the Illinois Department of Transportation; the City of Paducah; the City of Brookport, Illinois; McCracken County; and Livingston County, Kentucky. This designation has the potential to unlock federal grants that will provide resources for planning as well as the improvement of the safety and efficiency of our local road system.
