On Wednesday, July 13, a contractor working for the City of Paducah will begin maintenance work on the drainage ditch in the right-of-way on the west side of Central Avenue. The project extends along Central Avenue from County Club Lane to Westwood Boulevard. The work is expected to last two weeks, weather-permitting.
Contractors will be removing overgrowth and distressed trees along the drainage ditch in addition to realigning the ditch to improve stormwater flow and prevent the undermining of Central Avenue.
Please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices. Central Avenue will remain open during the project.
The City of Paducah maintains more than 220 miles of streets. For more information, view the proposed road rehabilitation plan through 2023.
