The Southside Steering Committee and the City of Paducah invite the community to the Family Fun Festival from 1 until 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 15 at Robert Coleman Park located at 1100 Walter Jetton Boulevard. This festival, sponsored by Community Financial Services Bank (CFSB), will include free activities for children and opportunities for the community to share what they love about the park and ideas about how the park could better meet the community’s needs.
Mayor George Bray said, “I want to thank the members of the Southside Steering Committee for their dedication in enhancing the Southside region of neighborhoods. Their work will assist the City as we shape policies and programs that create a long-term impact in the Southside. Furthermore, I encourage the public to attend this fun afternoon of activities and share your ideas. All of our collaborative work will lead to long-term stability and greater economic viability on the Southside.”
The Committee is focusing on five areas: economic development, infrastructure and connectivity, housing, neighborhood vitality, and parks and recreation. The Family Fun Festival is an opportunity to gather information regarding one of the more popular parks in the Southside, Robert Coleman Park.
Parks & Recreation Department Director Amie Clark said, “Robert Coleman Park is an asset to the Southside region, attracting visitors from all over the community and surrounding areas. The Family Fun Festival is a great way for the Southside Steering Committee to engage the public and gather input as to what improvements are desired by the community. This will help guide our efforts toward future development of the park.”
