The Paducah Police Department, in partnership with McCracken County ASAP, will participate in a nationwide initiative to help prevent prescription drug misuse and theft by offering the public a safe and convenient way to dispose of potentially dangerous medications.
Community members are invited to bring their expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs — pills and patches only — for safe disposal on Saturday, April 26, 2025, between 1 P.M – 4 P.M. at
Brockenborough ROTARY HEALTH PARK
421 N. 13th Street Paducah, KY 42001
The event will take place during the Rotary Club of Paducah’s third annual Park-A-Palooza event, a free family event with games, health screenings, food, and more.
This service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked. Please note: liquids, needles, and sharps will not be accepted.
Since the inception of the national Drug Take-Back program, law enforcement agencies across the country have safely collected thousands of tons of prescription medications. Medicines left in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Rates of prescription drug misuse in the United States remain alarmingly high, contributing to rising numbers of accidental poisonings and overdoses.
The Paducah Police Department encourages all residents to take this simple but important step in protecting their families and community.
